No bank account required: what difference does it make?
Individuals and professionals are welcome, whatever their nationality. Here, no bank account needs to be opened: the contract depends on no banking relationship, and showing an identity card or a valid passport is enough. Neither proof of address nor bank statement is asked, and there is no file to put together: the rental contract suffices on its own.
Signing takes twenty to thirty minutes, and the box opens straight away.

Inside the vault, a booth away from the cameras lets you handle your valuables unobserved: only the tenant, and any representative they have appointed, knows what the box contains. The operator does not know, by design: discretion here is not a selling point bolted onto the service, it is its architecture.
Banks are « also scaling back, or even ending, their safe deposit box rental services », the managing director of a private safe deposit box operator told Sudinfo in March 2026. ING stopped accepting new safe deposit box requests in January 2022 and ended the service for its customers at the end of 2023, directing them to CitySafes. Renewal: it is settled from home, by email and transfer, or at the counter; a reminder arrives one month before the term. To cancel, a registered letter is enough, at least ten days before expiry; any year started remains due.
